Born Geneva Ann Bell, Gen was raised in Chicago, Illinois. Her father was a designer engineer, her mother a correctional officer. As an only child Gen grew up in Maywood, a small west suburb of Chicago. After graduation from Proviso East High School, she later studied psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Although Gen works with high-profile clients and has a very notable fashion sense, she did not have any formal fashion training. Gen went freelance, giving her the opportunity to meet and work with some high-profile clients. As a stylist, she has worked with many clients from celebrities to housewives.
She plans, in the near future, to write a book about styling tips and observations from a celebrity stylist's point of view. Also giving advice about everything style when it comes to dressing stylishly, traveling in style, and entertaining with style. With the expansion of her clientele and numerous deals coming in, Gen plans to start her own Agency based in Miami.
Gen enjoys writing[1] as a hobby and plans to write a memoir about her life experiences and travels later on in life.
Gen is currently unmarried with no children. She has a small yorkie-poodle named Dexter and she is a world traveler. She enjoys yoga, spending time with her family and friends, and above all putting God first in her life.
